Common Butterflies of Chennai
Chennai is a butterfly watcher's paradise, being home to 152 species of butterfly with numerous publicly accessible spots to search for these winged wonders in. About Vikas Madhav Nagarajan:
Vikas is currently pursuing a Masters in Environmental Public Policy from Georgia Institute of Technology. He has been a naturalist for 15 years and is a reviewer for citizen science platforms such as eBird India and Butterflies of India. He has published several natural history articles, mostly on butterflies. Along with others, he compiled the first comprehensive checklist of the butterflies of Chennai. He has led several surveys and expeditions to the Western Ghats and Western Himalayas and has traveled to 16 states in India. He was the recipient of the Young Naturalist Award in 2014. He is also an active campaigner on local environmental issues.
